Worship at GPC
Everyone is welcome at Glendale Presbyterian Church. No matter what age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability, marital status, economic status, differences of thought or belief, or any other form of diversity you may exhibit…you are welcome here.
10:00am – Worship
Coffee Fellowship following worship
A nursery is available for newborns through age 3. Pre-K aged children and older are encouraged to be a part of worship. Following the children’s time with Pastor Liz, children and youth (K-8th) move to their Sunday school classes. There is one exception! The first Sunday of the month is Family Worship Sunday. All ages worship together and celebrate the Lord's Supper. Activity bags are provided for the kids during worship.
Worship at Glendale Presbyterian is described by Pastor Liz as “traditionally nontraditional.” Worship is grounded in the liturgy but flexible, gracious, and full of laughter. While we take worship seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously and therein is the sweet moment of grace.
What is worship about?
- “The Churchy answer” and an excellent one: Through the reading and hearing of Scripture, the word preached, and the celebration of the sacraments: Holy Eucharist (aka the Lord’s Supper or Communion) and baptism, God in Christ is present by the Holy Spirit acting to transform, empower, and sustain human lives.
- “The GPC answer” and an excellent one: Worship is about making space for all to gather in community to give thanks to God, to ask questions, to learn, to offer support, to celebrate, to mourn, to be encouraged & challenged in our discipleship.
